Build software with AI
Tools that turn a description or a screenshot into a working app or website.
Build software with AI holds 10 of the 110 stories on Aiolum: 8 run by a solo founder and 2 by a team of 2 to 10. Together they report US$81M in verified outcomes; the largest is Base44, US$80M cash exit, 18 June 2025. 7 headline numbers carry evidence grade A (disclosed or verified), 0 grade B (independent press) and 3 grade C (founder claim). The median story reached its headline number 11 months after launch. The founders are in 6 countries, most often USA and France. The most common main channel is the founder's posts and audience (5 of 10). The tools named most often in their sources are OpenAI API (9), Stripe (8) and X (8).

The revenue trend compares the latest months in the sources with the months before them. Falling means revenue is about 15% or more below the best recent months, or the sources report a fall. The headline number is the yearly figure or the sale value on each card.

You describe an app in plain language. Base44 generates a working web app with its own database, user login and hosting, so you never touch a server.
It launched in the month that AI models became good enough to write a whole app. It sold to people who cannot program, it charged from day one, and it was sold to a company that already had millions of customers.
A web app that designs the screens of an iPhone or Android app from one sentence or a reference image, with AI. You chat to change the design, then paste it into Figma as editable layers, export HTML or React code, or send it to an app builder. AI coding agents can also use it through an API.
It took a narrower job than the general AI design tools, mobile apps only, for people who build apps without design skills. The three founders reused what they had learned from four earlier design tools, built it in three weeks, and showed finished designs on X before the launch. Each new Gemini model gave them a better result and a new demo to post.
A desktop app and Roblox Studio plugin that builds parts of a Roblox game from a written request: game systems, user interfaces, animations, visual effects, sounds and 3D builds, written straight into the user's project after the AI has read it. Users pay for AI tokens with a monthly plan or one-time top-ups, and can install ready-made systems from a marketplace.
The founder had made Roblox games for nine years, with 200 million visits on his own games, and his launch post on the official Roblox developer forum was read 112,656 times. He launched free, with 1 million tokens a month, and charged US$20 a month for heavy use. Then he added top-ups and a marketplace of tested systems that the AI installs, instead of writing every system from nothing.
A web app that turns a short form, or a business name found on Google, into a complete WordPress site for a local business: a page for every service and service area, AI-written text and images, search settings, hosting on its own servers, and an AI agent for later edits. Agencies sell the sites to their clients as their own work.
The founder had sold this product by hand in his own agency, so he knew what agencies deliver: WordPress, a real page builder, and pages for each service and each town. The tool fills designer-made templates with AI text, so the output is consistent. It sells to agencies that build sites every month, which fits a monthly subscription, and it found them through his own posts and videos, with no ads.
An AI tool that draws the screens of a mobile app from a text description or a reference image, refined in a chat and exported as HTML (design.appalchemy.ai, since February 2025). Since July 2026 also an AI app builder that turns a description into React Native code for iOS and Android, with a live preview on the user's phone (appalchemy.ai).
He solved a problem he had paid for himself and shipped the simplest version in about two weeks. Then he wrote useful Reddit posts with the product link in the middle and posted each one in many related subreddits. With 70 to 115 followers on X, he says this brought over 1 million views and about 20,000 signups by July 2025.
A web app that turns a short text prompt into a website or mobile app screen, a logo, a brand kit or a marketing graphic. You edit the result on a canvas, export it, or publish it as a website on your own domain. An MCP server lets coding agents such as Claude Code and Cursor ask it for designs from inside a developer's project.
It named a problem that many builders saw in 2025 and 2026: screens written by AI coding tools look alike. It sold the fix inside those tools, as an MCP server for Claude Code, Cursor and other coding agents, first published on 29 March 2026. Stripe revenue in April was 12.2 times March. Since April revenue has fallen, and September was 37.2% below it.
A web app that turns a screenshot, a mockup, a Figma design or a screen recording of a website into front-end code: HTML with Tailwind or CSS, React, Vue, Bootstrap or Ionic. The code is open source under the MIT licence and free to run with your own model keys. The hosted version at screenshottocode.com sells monthly credits, so the user needs no API key and no setup.
The founder released it as a free open-source tool nine days after he wrote that the new GPT-4 Vision and Turbo API previews allowed only 100 requests a day. Hacker News and GitHub trending brought the repository more than 35,000 stars in under three months, and the README sends readers on to the paid hosted version for people who do not want to set up keys and servers. It had made US$1,000 within 19 days, with a Stripe payment link and no user accounts.
You describe a business idea, or you let the product choose one. Polsia then creates a company name, a website, an email inbox and a payment account. Its AI agents write code, send sales emails, post on X and run Meta adverts. One agent chooses one task every night, does it, and emails you a report.
The founder made his own fundraising the advertisement. In February 2026 he let the product answer investor emails in public, next to a live revenue counter. A new customer needs only an idea, so thousands of people tried the product each day. The counter annualized all money that entered the platform, so it grew faster than the subscription revenue.
A person describes a web application in plain language. Softgen's AI agent writes a Next.js project with a database, user login and payments, shows a live preview, and changes the app when the person gives feedback. The code goes to the user's own GitHub repository.
A technical founder released an early full-stack AI app builder in July 2024, and revenue stayed flat for four months. Then a second person joined who worked only on distribution, and annual recurring revenue grew about 25 times in four months. They sold the product while the growth was visible and kept their company for the next product.
A web app that writes and designs a one-page website from a short description. The user typed a few words about a business; the AI wrote the headline and the text, made a logo and illustrations, and filled a page template in about a minute. The page could be shared with a link or downloaded as HTML and CSS code.
It launched in May 2023, when interest in AI tools was at its highest and before Framer, Wix and Webflow had their own AI page generators. It charged from the first day and made about US$8,000 in its first month. Six months after the launch, when sales had stopped growing and the founder no longer cared about the market, he sold it on a marketplace for 2.5 times its trailing-twelve-month figure.
