Notis is an AI assistant, a program that takes a request written or spoken in ordinary language and carries it out with a large language model. People reach it through the chat apps they already use. A voice note or a text on WhatsApp, Telegram, iMessage, Slack or email becomes a formatted note, a task, a draft post or a CRM update (customer relationship management software, where a sales team records contacts and deals) in Notion or one of more than 1,000 connected apps. On WhatsApp it works through the WhatsApp Business API, the paid interface through which a company's software sends and receives WhatsApp messages. Its language models come from OpenAI.

Florian "Flo" Pariset started building it in summer 2023 and launched the paid version in November 2023. He runs it through Mind the Flo Sàrl, a Swiss limited liability company registered in August 2024, and calls himself a team of one who works with AI agents; he has also paid salaries and freelancers, and he says he raised US$0. On 15 October 2026 his Stripe account, read by TrustMRR, showed MRR (monthly recurring revenue: the subscription income of one month, with a yearly plan counted as one twelfth of its price) of US$13,454 from 446 active subscriptions, and US$200,983 of revenue in the last twelve months. Monthly revenue peaked at US$39,398 in March 2026 and was US$11,628 in September 2026.

The founder's own account explains the fall. On 9 August 2026 he wrote that Notis had made US$215,000 of gross revenue, while OpenAI had charged US$50,000, Facebook and Google US$160,000 for ads, and Stripe US$35,000 for fees, refunds and chargebacks (card payments that the customer's bank reverses after a dispute). That left minus US$30,000, and he stopped all ads that day. The revenue figures on this page are grade A, from Stripe; the costs are his statement, grade C. The page also shows earlier companies that sold an assistant to busy people, or built on top of another company's platform that later offered the same feature.

How to read this table: a grade A value comes from Stripe through TrustMRR's API connection. A grade C value is a statement by the founder in his newsletter, blog or X posts, or a page of the company, a platform or a register. A "calc" value was computed on this page from other rows.

Notis prices: the pricing page loads plan prices by script, so the yearly prices come from the founder's TrustMRR profile of October 2026 and the monthly prices from the company changelog of 2 December 2025 (grade C)

Each paid plan includes a usage budget: US$20 a month on Pro, US$59 on Pro+ and US$149 on Ultra. Model use, paid tools, voice and cloud computer work are charged at twice the provider's cost, and extra use can be billed On-Demand within a limit that the customer sets. A paid plan starts with a 7-day trial with US$20 of usage. In December 2025 the changelog gave Pro+ at US$39 a month and said the yearly plan was 20% cheaper; the October 2026 profile gives US$39 a month billed yearly, so prices have changed and today's monthly prices are not verified. The free plan is the Notis CLI, a command-line tool, inside Claude Code, Codex or Cursor.

03

Why it worked

Four causes, in the order they mattered. Each one is a reusable lesson.

01

The chat app is the interface

There is no new app to learn first. A voice note on WhatsApp, in any of more than 50 languages, becomes a page, a task or a database row in Notion, and the link comes back in the chat. The same assistant later came to Telegram, iMessage, Slack, email and a desktop app, so the product does not depend on one messaging channel.

02

A first market of Notion users

In 2025 the founder aimed at people who already kept their work in Notion: an ambassador program, lists of startups that run on Notion taken from Product Hunt, and X posts showing that Notis could query Notion databases from a chat, which he said Notion AI could not do.

03

Paid ads, then no ads

In June 2025 he wrote that a paid user cost less than the user's first-year value. By August 2026 Facebook and Google had received US$160,000, three quarters of the gross revenue. Stripe revenue peaked at US$39,398 in March 2026. In June 2026 he reported new trials down 75%; on 9 August he stopped all ads; September 2026 brought US$11,628.

04

A usage budget, and the customer's own AI subscription

Each paid plan includes a dollar budget of usage, and model use, paid tools, voice and cloud work are charged at twice the provider's cost. Since August 2026 a customer can connect a ChatGPT or Claude subscription, so that the model work is paid by that subscription and not by Notis, whose OpenAI bill had reached US$50,000. The founder wrote that about US$400 of his own subscriptions did more than US$30,000 of work at API prices in one month.

How it was built

These details come from the company's own pages and the founder's posts and profile entries (grade C), except the GitHub activity, which TrustMRR reads from the connected repository. [1, 11, 13, 14, 20, 9, 2]

  • Next.js for the front end; Python and Supabase on the server; Stripe for payments (founder's entries on the TrustMRR profile).
  • Language models from OpenAI. Since July 2026 the Medium and High settings run on GPT-5.6 Sol and Low on GPT-5.6 Luna; in August 2026 voice transcription moved to OpenAI's gpt-transcribe. The OpenAI bill reached US$50,000 by August 2026.
  • Messaging through the official WhatsApp Business API, Telegram, Slack (January 2026), iMessage with RCS, WhatsApp and SMS on one number (March 2026), email, and a desktop app (May 2026). The privacy policy lists Twilio and ElevenLabs for messaging and voice.
  • Connections to the customers' apps run partly through Composio, an integration service that creates and stores the login tokens. The privacy policy also lists Google Cloud and Supabase for hosting, Intercom for support, and PostHog, Langfuse and Google Analytics for measurement.
  • Notis also works as an MCP server (Model Context Protocol, a standard way for AI assistants to call outside tools) and as a command-line tool inside Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, ChatGPT and Notion AI.
  • The founder builds with AI coding agents. TrustMRR's connection to his GitHub shows 2,752 contributions in the last year.

The dead that came before

Five companies in the Loot Drop database promised an assistant that takes work off busy people, or a tool that competes inside another company's product or market. The values below are from that database and are not independently verified.

Died 2011 to 2015Burned US$5.5M

Zirtual

The promise

Virtual assistants for busy executives and founders: hand off email and scheduling.

Why it died

It hired a large staff of assistants before checking that it could pay them, and ran out of cash in the middle of the expansion.

Ran Out of CashLoot Drop entry ↗
Died 2012 to 2015Burned US$3.5M

Exec

The promise

An on-demand assistant for errands, cleaning and personal tasks.

Why it died

It offered every kind of task and did none of them best. Customer acquisition was expensive, margins were thin, and TaskRabbit won by focusing.

Died 2015 to 2020Burned US$30M

Operator

The promise

A personal shopper in your phone, run by people and AI together.

Why it died

Each request needed expensive human work, and the costs stayed higher than the service could earn against Amazon.

Unit EconomicsLoot Drop entry ↗
Died 2017 to 2020Burned US$2.8M

Niles

The promise

A bot inside Slack that answers questions from the company's own knowledge.

Why it died

AI answers became common and cheap, and Slack added similar features itself.

Died 2012 to 2018Burned None

Transpose

The promise

First called KustomNote: flexible notes and data organization for businesses, as an alternative to Evernote.

Why it died

Without outside money it could not give users of the established note tool a strong enough reason to switch.

What changed

Zirtual, Exec and Operator sold the promise that Notis sells, an assistant that takes small tasks off busy people, but every task needed paid human work, and each ran out of money or margin. Niles worked inside Slack and lost when Slack offered similar features. Transpose tried to take users from Evernote and could not give them a reason to move.

Two things are different now. A language model does the task, so a request costs cents of model use instead of an assistant's wage: OpenAI charged Notis US$50,000 against US$215,000 of revenue, and since August 2026 customers can send the model work to their own ChatGPT or Claude subscription. What has not changed is the cost of finding customers and the risk of the platform. Notis spent more on ads than on models, Notion now ships its own agents, and WhatsApp limits AI providers on its business interface. The founder's answer is more channels and a move away from Notion.

05

Can one person copy it now?

The product idea, yes. The growth method, no.

One person can build an assistant that lives in a chat app and writes into the tools people already use, with AI models and an integration service. The part not to copy is the growth: by the founder's own account he spent US$160,000 on ads against US$215,000 of revenue and ended with less money than he started with.

Where it is still open: Assistants for the tools of one profession, such as a CRM for salespeople, a bug tracker for developers or expense software for freelancers, reached from the chat app that the profession already uses.

  1. 1Start with one group that already keeps its work in one tool, here Notion users, and solve the problem of capturing work from a phone.
  2. 2Use the chat apps' official business interfaces, and offer several channels, so that one platform's rule change does not end the product.
  3. 3Price by usage with the model cost passed on, or let customers bring their own AI subscription.
  4. 4Before raising an ad budget, compare the cost of each paying user with what that user pays after refunds, chargebacks, payment fees and model costs.

What to watch

The risks are the mirror image of the causes above.

Revenue is falling

Stripe revenue fell from US$39,398 in March 2026 to US$11,628 in September 2026. July to September 2026 was 34% below April to June, and MRR fell 13.6% in the last 30 days. The founder stopped all ads on 9 August 2026.

Costs larger than revenue

By his own account to 9 August 2026, OpenAI, ads and Stripe took US$245,000 out of US$215,000 of revenue, and with licenses and freelancers he was US$100,000 poorer than at the start. In June 2026 he wrote that Notis was profitable at its small scale, and his page still says profitable. These are his statements, grade C; TrustMRR verifies revenue, not costs.

Notion now has its own agents

Notion released AI Meeting Notes on 13 May 2025 and rebuilt Notion AI as Agents on 18 September 2025, with access to Slack, Google Drive and GitHub. In June 2025 Pariset called the dependence on Notion's API the main risk for Notis. On 27 August 2026 he wrote that he was finishing a move away from Notion within 30 days.

WhatsApp's rule on AI providers

Since 15 January 2026 the WhatsApp Business terms bar AI providers when the AI is the primary, not incidental or ancillary, function, as Meta decides at its sole discretion. Meta told TechCrunch that businesses that use AI to serve their own customers, such as a travel company's support bot, are not affected. Notis is a task tool, not a general chatbot, but its AI is its main function, so the wording could cover it. No source shows Meta acting against Notis; in October 2026 its WhatsApp page still says it works inside the official WhatsApp Business API.

Dependence on other companies

The models come from OpenAI, most of the marketing money went to Facebook and Google, the payments run on Stripe, and the product writes into Notion and other apps through their APIs. In June 2025 the founder wrote that WhatsApp had already been briefly unavailable to Notis.

Funded competitors

The founder names Viktor, which he says raised a US$75 million Series A led by Accel and has four times as many paid users as Notis. TechCrunch names Poke, backed by General Catalyst, among the WhatsApp assistants that the rule would likely affect. ChatGPT, Claude and Notion's own agents compete for the same work.

User counts that do not match

The founder wrote of 17,000 founders using Notis in May 2026 and of 1,000 paying teams in July 2026. Stripe showed 446 active subscriptions in October 2026. The sources do not say how each count was made.
